Four directions. One brand, one set of researched footage, one narrative: the making of a single piece of nigiri, told as seven material states. Each direction below is a real scrollable page, not a mood board. Open them, scroll them forward and backward, then pick one.

The Void

Gallery black and extreme negative space. The footage is never a rectangle: it exists only inside an aperture that the scroll opens and closes.

The inverted one. Washi paper ground, ink type, a visible twelve column grid, and every clip printed as a duotone specimen plate with its own figure number.

The Ember

Letterboxed cinema. Oversized type crosses the frame edge to edge and is cropped by the bars, and the sear detonates into a deterministic ember field.

The Liquid

Cold steel black. Scrolling down moves everything sideways at three different rates, and the type refracts, as if the water between you and it were moving.

How to read these

Every direction runs the same scroll contract. A tall section supplies the distance, a 100svh sticky stage holds the picture in the viewport for the whole act, and one normalised progress value drives the video, the typography and the interface together. Scroll backward and the act reverses exactly.

The video never plays on its own clock inside a scrubbed act. Its time is your scroll position, held on the true first frame at the start and the true final frame at the end. Throw the wheel as hard as you like: it resolves to the right frame.

Add ?demo=1 to any direction for an automatic pass. Space starts and pauses it, R resets to the opening frame. Manual scrolling takes over at any point.

All four honour prefers-reduced-motion: the composition survives intact, poster frames replace the seeking video, and the particle field is not built at all.
